C&A employees endured hot temps and heated competition on August 21st to raise money for Camp Fire USA. Eleven teams went head-to-head in a double elimination volleyball tourament. Lots of fun for a great cause!
C&A concluded Project Fresh Start, a back-to-school clothing drive, in conjunction with the Open Door Mission and Lydia House! Employees donated new clothing for kids entering grades K-6 as well as cash and gift cards that will be used to purchase items and sizes in shorter supply. A great effort for a great cause!
Over 350 C&A employees and guests celebrated the opening of the College World Series on Friday, June 18th, with hamburgers and hotdogs, ice cream, music, and fun for the kids, including a bounce house, inflatable baseball, and other activities. C&A employees paid to wear jeans on May 28th and all for a great cause. The C&A NAMI committee raised $929 to benefit the 2010 NAMI Walk, which will be held on Saturday, June 12. To date, the C&A team is over halfway to its fundraising goal and 50 walkers are signed up for the team!
C&A employees held a successful grill-out benefiting the 2010 NAMI Walk. A total of $755 was raised for this worthy cause! A big thank you goes to Rotella’s Italian Bakery for donating buns, Skylark Meats for donating hot dogs, and HyVee for donating a gift card toward the purchase of chips!
C&A joined with other community and business leaders on Monday, May 3rd as a sponsor of the Salvation Army’s annual D.J.’s Hero Awards luncheon, held at the Qwest Center Omaha. Former NFL quarterback Kurt Warner delivered the keynote and nine remarkable young people received $5,000 academic scholarships. What an inspiring afternoon!
There was a lot of ducking and weaving on Saturday, April 4th at the first annual “Ducking and Dodging for a Cure” co-ed dodgeball tournament. The event, organized by employees in Aureus Medical Group, a C&A company, was a huge success! A total of 13 teams participated, raising more than $1,000 for Camp Quality Heartland.
Congrats to Matt Neel and Abby Hansen, Account Managers for the Medical Laboratory division, for being awarded the “Patriotic Employer” award from the National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. One of their contract employees, Brian Tyler, nominated both of them. Colonel Retired John Bryan presented the certificates to Matt and Abby at the monthly Allied Health meeting in April.
