At C&A, we are always on the hunt for talented candidates to join our team! As part of our recruitment efforts, we have created a video, which gives insight from current employees as to why C&A is a great place to work!
C&A has kicked-off an exciting campaign, Project Fresh Start, a back-to-school clothing drive in partnership with the Open Door Mission and Lydia House! To launch the drive, C&A employees paid to wear jeans for two days last week, with proceeds benefitting this great cause. Project Fresh Start will continue through July 23rd.
Signs are pointing to an economic upswing. People are slowly starting to purchase again which for our business (staffing) means companies are beginning to hire. Just check out Careerlink.com and you’ll find over 300 sales positions posted for the Omaha area compared to 100 not long ago. What does that mean for our own workforce? Our summer hiring is in motion. We’re adding internal staff to serve our clients’ hiring needs and we’re off to a great start!
A big thank you goes to the C&A employees who either participated in or contributed to the 2010 NAMI Walk, held on Saturday, June 12th. The C&A team, which had over 50 members signed up and raised almost $5,000, joined hundreds of other walkers dodging the rain drops and walking the path in Elmwood Park [...]
C&A employees held a successful grill-out benefiting the 2010 NAMI Walk. A total of $755 was raised for this worthy cause! A big thank you goes to Rotella’s Italian Bakery for donating buns, Skylark Meats for donating hot dogs, and HyVee for donating a gift card toward the purchase of chips!
Being an HR recruiter definitely has its challenges. Finding qualified candidates to fill sales and recruiting positions in our various staffing divisions is not an easy task. We currently have many practices in place to assist us in finding those “diamonds in the rough”. We utilize sales assessments and various other computer assessments on top of gauging the candidate’s skill level through behavioral and work-related questions. We also take into consideration personality, drive, work ethic, team skills, and more. Are they a right fit for our company and for the position? Maybe more importantly, are WE the right fit for THEM?
There was a lot of ducking and weaving on Saturday, April 4th at the first annual “Ducking and Dodging for a Cure” co-ed dodgeball tournament. The event, organized by employees in Aureus Medical Group, a C&A company, was a huge success! A total of 13 teams participated, raising more than $1,000 for Camp Quality Heartland.
Congrats to Matt Neel and Abby Hansen, Account Managers for the Medical Laboratory division, for being awarded the “Patriotic Employer” award from the National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. One of their contract employees, Brian Tyler, nominated both of them. Colonel Retired John Bryan presented the certificates to Matt and Abby at the monthly Allied Health meeting in April.
C&A has made news again, having been named among the best employment agencies in Omaha by B2B Quarterly for the second consecutive year! The announcement is featured in the magazine’s April 2010 issue.
We just finished wrapping up the spring college career fair season, attending career fairs at both UNO and UNL. These career fairs give us a chance to chat with soon to be graduates about their career plans upon graduating and hopefully find a few students who are good candidates for us to consider for future employment!
